The first birthday marks a year of firsts, and the right gift meets your little one right where they are: pulling up, cruising, taking those wobbly early steps. Our gifts for 1 year olds bring together wooden balance bikes, gentle rocking horses, soft foam play and cosy armchairs, each made to grow alongside a busy toddler through the year ahead.

At around one, little ones are finding their feet, and a gift that moves with them feels like a small celebration of that. Our Wooden Balance Bike «Noyer» starts as a stable trike and converts to two wheels as confidence builds, with six seat positions from 25 to 31 cm to follow those growing legs. A rocking horse like «Bear» invites gentle back-and-forth play from 12 months.

The gifts here are built to be handled, carried around and enjoyed every day. Wooden ride-ons and rocking animals are made from solid birch, beech and poplar, designed to keep up with years of toddler play. Foam play sets are easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. These are thoughtful pieces for play and everyday life, made to be enjoyed well beyond the first birthday.
Different toddlers, different joys, so it helps to match the gift to where they are:
Balance bikes & cargo bikes — from 12 months, for busy movers finding their balance
Rocking horses & pull-along toys — from 12 months, for gentle, rhythmic play
Soft foam play & rainbow arcs — from 1 year, for tumbling and building
Ready to style the whole space? Our nursery collection and toddler room 2-5 years hold coordinating textiles, shelves and lighting to match.
At around one, children are learning to stand, cruise and take their first steps, so gifts that reward movement and grip work beautifully. A wooden balance bike, a rocking horse or soft foam blocks all suit this stage. Most of our toys for this age are rated from 12 months, so you can choose with confidence.
Several do, and it's quick. The Wooden Balance Bike «Noyer» takes an adult around 20 minutes to put together, and rocking horses such as «Bear» take about 15. Soft foam play and pull-along toys are ready to use straight away.
Foam play sets wipe clean with a damp cloth, and wooden toys can be wiped down the same way. Wooden ride-ons are best stored indoors in a dry spot, as the wood isn't made for wet weather. Cotton textiles such as our baby blankets are machine washable, making everyday spills easy to manage.
Yes. The Wooden Balance Bike «Noyer» is a 4-in-1 design that starts as a stable tricycle and converts to two wheels as balance develops, with six seat positions from 25 to 31 cm. It suits children from 12 months to 3 years, up to 20 kg, so it grows with them through the toddler years.
