    Childrens duvet covers

Lastly, it’s important to mention that childrens duvet covers come in a range of sizes to suit the corresponding sizes of duvet. Babies under one should never use a duvet and should instead have a light blanket or cover, preferably tucked under both arms. After the age of one, parents can decide when they feel the time is right for giving their toddler a duvet and choosing from our range of childrens duvet covers. Toddlers shouldn’t progress immediately to a single duvet and cover, but begin with a smaller sized toddler duvet. Even at this young age, children will enjoy choosing from our range of childrens duvet covers.

1.What bedding is best for kids?

When it comes to children's bedding, we recommend choosing high-quality, breathable materials that will withstand frequent washing for the years to come. It's important to choose a manufacturer you trust for your children's bedding. At Petite Amélie, all of our bedding is made from premium quality sustainably sourced materials. All of our materials are produced in accordance with the standards set by the International Labour Organization, and our 100% organic cotton complies with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Rest easy in the knowledge that your child is sleeping soundly in their new children's bedding by choosing Petite Amélie.

2.What tog duvet should a child have?

There are several factors to consider when deciding what tog duvet a child should have, from their age and size to things like the temperature of your house, the weather outside, time of year and season, and your personal preference when it comes to duvet filling and thicknesses. As a general rule of thumb, the youngest children (1-4) should use a 4.5 tog duvet, before progressing to a 7.5 tog later in childhood (4-8) and a 10.5 or 13 tog duvet for older children (8+), pre-teens, and teens.

3.At what age should a child use a duvet?

Children under the age of one are not recommended to use a duvet. This is because they are still learning to regulate their body temperature and are unlikely to be able to communicate that they are too hot. For a safe and comfortable night’s sleep, children under the age of one are recommended to sleep with a lightweight blanket, preferably tucked under both arms.
