The gifts parents remember are the ones still in use a year on. A fine-knit organic cotton blanket becomes a pram companion, a wooden play gym invites those first reaches and grasps, and a rocking horse waits for wobbly early steps. Each piece is chosen to grow into everyday family life rather than fade after the first week.
For a keepsake with staying power, the wooden toys collection holds rocking horses and balance bikes that carry a child from their first year onward. Looking to build a whole room? Browse the nursery essentials for cots, changing accessories and gentle lighting.
Softness matters most against newborn skin, which is why our own-brand textiles use GOTS-certified organic cotton across blankets, wash cloths, changing mat covers and muslin play mats. Wooden ride-ons are made from FSC™-certified birch, beech and poplar, while play gyms use FSC-certified multiplex wood, all finished with water-based paint that keeps surfaces smooth to the touch.
A newborn welcomes soft textiles and a play gym; a first birthday suits a balance bike or rocking horse. For older siblings joining the celebration, the toddler room range offers play and storage that suits two to five year olds. Pair a blanket with a plush toy or LED wall light for a gift that feels complete.
For a newborn, soft organic cotton blankets, muslin swaddles, wash cloths and a wooden play gym are gentle, useful choices. The «Forêt» wooden play gym suits ages 0 to 9 months and should be removed once a baby begins pushing up on hands and knees. Wooden ride-ons like balance bikes and rocking horses are better kept for a first-birthday gift, as they start from twelve months.
Most textiles are machine washable, though temperatures vary by piece. Baby blankets and Jollein sleeping bags wash at 40°C, while changing mat covers and wash cloths also take 40°C. Muslin play mats and cotton rugs wash gently at 30°C. Wooden play gym frames should only be wiped with a damp cloth, though their fabric accessories can go in the machine at 30°C.
The wooden play gyms come with their frame and detachable sensory accessories, but a play mat is not included and is sold separately. The «Forêt» gym, for example, arrives with three plush accessories: a squeaky hedgehog, a fox rattle and a crinkle mushroom. A soft muslin play mat makes a natural pairing to complete the set.
Yes. The «Noyer» wooden balance bike is a 4-in-1 design that converts from a tricycle to a two-wheeler, with adjustable seat heights from 25 to 31 cm. It suits children from one year with a maximum weight of 20 kg, and is best stored indoors in a dry place after outdoor use.
